Attraction Reservations for Rome, Pisa, Milan/Monza/Lakes, Venice

Hi all,

In a post-covid world, spontaneity has been squashed a bit (at least in America!) because so many attractions/parks/etc. require reservations!

What attractions require (or would you recommend) a reservation these days in Rome, Pisa, Milan/Monza/Lakes area, and Venice?

Here is what we are thinking about doing/seeing in each place -- we are open to other recs as well:

Rome:
-The Colosseum
-Roman Forum
-Capitoline Museums
-Pantheon
-Vatican museums/Sistine Chapel/St. Peter's Basilica
-Borghese Gallery and Museum
-San Clemente

Pisa
-the tower
-piazza de cavalieri

Milan
-Duomo
-Varenna
-Lake Como

Venice
-St. Mark's square
-St. Mark's basilica
-Doge's palace
-Rialto Bridge
-Frari Church

And recommendation for the best city to take a cooking class out of those listed!

Just back from northern Italy. We pre booked the Duomo in Milan and a day tour to Lake Como. I got up in the middle of the night here to secure tickets to see The Last Supper. In Venice, we had timed tickets to the Basilica, the Doges Palace, and the Campanile/Bell Tower.

If you decide to see the Guggenheim in Venice, that's a ticket to get a bit ahead of time, online, to avoid the ticket line.

I walked right into the Capitoline Museums in Rome. I haven't seen a suggestion from anyone that it's a ticket you need to purchase in advance.

The Last Supper is very tricky, as is the Colosseum. Look for recent threads about those tickets for the latetst word on best techniques for buying them.

There's nothing tricky about tickets for the Vatican Museums, but the regular entry tickets have been selling out far in advance this year. Tours offered by the VMs are usually available just a bit later, and the early-entry tours before regular opening time are especially recommended. Commercial tours cost quite a bit more.
