Attire in Sicily in mid-March

Ciao, fellow travelers! As a group of five women friends traveling to Sicily, we will spend time in Taormina, Palermo and Ortigia. We know mid March can be chilly to warm most days. We want to be comfortable and casual but also fashionable when appropriate. Does anybody have experience being in these areas of Sicily this time of year, and can you recommend what to pack for women, day vs evening? Grazie!

Depends on what you are planning on do. I would say casual wear, jeans and comfortable tops, good shoes for walking (sneakers or light hiking shoes), jackets for cooler days and evenings. Not sure what is meant by fashionable - do you mean dressy? Not needed, nice pants (not jeans) and say a silk blouse, or similar will work for most occasions.

Don't worry about fashionable - take layers! We arrived in Sicily one year on March 20 and froze! I was wearing several pairs of pants and every top in my suitcase some of the rainy days. And then, a week or two later, it was hot in another part of the island!
