Looking for some packing advise for our trip first week of July with kids (ages 9 and 3).
We are going to Lake Maggiore, Camogli (Ligurian coast), and Tuscany. Last night either Milan or Emilia-Romagnia.
We are all bringing keen's, good for water and hiking and walking. I'm bringing a pair of clark's (flats) for evenings and the kids will bring either sneakers or croc's for the beach/pool. I don't want to bring more than 2 pairs of shoes per person.
Dressing for me and my 3-year-old daughter should be easy. Dresses with cardigans and jackets if we need to cover up and T-shirts and a couple of slacks. Can my 9-year-old son get away with wearing shorts? Do they need to be nicer shorts or are sports shorts fine? And what about my husband? He usually wears shorts but we don't want to be inappropriate or stick out. I assume a couple of pairs of khakis for dinners, and polo shirts, maybe one long-sleeve, button-up? Can he wear shorts at most of these locations during the day?
