My wife and I are going to be going on a wine tour + lunch at Avignonesi in Montepulciano. We were just curious what the typical attire is for this? Would nice jeans be appropriate? Or something a little nicer? Thanks!
I forgot to add that the lunch is a 4-course lunch, so it is fairly elaborate.
Rich,
I just entered Avignonesi Montepulciano into www.tripadvisor.com and then clicked on the posted user/Visitor Photos. Take a look; you'll see lots of photos of the vineyard and dining area, along with a few people on tour and dining. Looks like comfortable, yet nicer casual attire to me. I'd put my husband in a decent pair of khakis/ollives and a nice shirt (he usually wears long-sleeve shirts unless 90+ degrees, so maybe a Brooks Brothers stripe, etc.) and travel loafers, and I'd wear my JJill wearever black pencil skirt, top and a colorful scarf............we'd look pretty much like we do when touring anyway. Definitely comfortable flat shoes for the vineyard. Looks like a great place; maybe we'll catch it on our next trip to Italy :) Have fun!
In California we call it "Wine Country Casual" which usually is a pair of Dockers type pants and a Polo or Button Down Shirt. Jeans can be hot and heavy.
