Anyone attend mass in St.Marks Venice or StAnthony in Padua. Will be in Venice on week days and Padua sat /sun. Venice appears to have a mass at 8am before the church is open to ticket holders. Can you attend without a ticket ? We have always managed to find a church to attend services but it may be Pentecost when we are traveling in May. In Budapest last year we needed tickets to get inside and lots of things closed that weekend. Also anyone purchase the pass that allows entrance to multiple Venice churches?
Thanks
At San Marco, 8:00 is morning prayer, and mass is at 8:30 and 10 am on weekdays, in a side chapel. Entry for services is free; you use the side door at Porta di Fioro. See the details here:

If helpful…
When traveling throughout Europe for churches that require admission I always check for Mass times on the website and then about 10 minutes prior I find security or attendant and say “Good morning (evening), Mass please” in their language. I have always been pointed to the door to enter or direction to go to find the correct entrance. I’ve never had to buy admission and had any problems attending.
Us too when wanting to attend Mass. We have found they either close entirely for services or have a seperate entrance. If they use a side entrance, Mass will usually be in a small chapel.
