Atrani is right next to Amalfi Town, which gives you convenient access to buses and ferries for getting around the coast.

I’ve stayed in Praiano and enjoyed it but there were times we could not board a bus because it was full. All things considered I will stay closer to the water next time (we were up by the San Luca church) and in a town with ferry service. Atrani would be my choice between those two because it’s so close to Amalfi and the ferry dock there.
