I have had my bank increase the daily limit. Question is: What is daily limit in Italy? thanks
There is no official "daily limit" in Italy as it is determine by each bank and different ATM locations. On the weekends, in high tourist areas I have encountered limits of 250E primarily to prevent the ATM from running out of cash. If you need more, just use the ATM more than once or a different one. Most of the time we use an ATM attached to a bank during open hours and have taken out as much as 750E with no problems.
There is a transaction limit of about 300 euros per transaction. Since your bank sets your daily limit you can make as many transactions as it takes to get to that limit. So if your daily limit is 1000 euros you can make 4 transactions to get out the entire 1000 euros. Donna
Unless you are tied to just one bank in Italy, go to more than one if the first one limits the amount of cash it will give you.
mille grazie
We've been here all month and haven't had any trouble taking out up to 500-600 whenever we use a Bancomat. The Pisa Airport did have a 250 euro limit.
My bank and credit union (I take two ATM cards) have different daily limits, but both are USD$ denominated. You will need to check with your specific financial institution(s).
