ATC Bus in La Spezia area Codice Determination

Can anyone point to a resource or process to determine what Codice 00-12 ticket is required? The ATC site fully explains the pricing, distance and need of the Codice but how does one determine the amount of km which is the key to which Codice ticket is required?

Presently the price varies from Codice 00 of 1.50 euro (0-6 km) to Codice 12 of 4.30 euro (more than 60 km)

Steve,

Could you elaborate? Where are you planning to take the Bus to?

How about from Levanto to Boghetto?

or Levanto to Lavogiorosso

or La Spezia FS to Campiglia for example?

BTW the LA Spezia FS fermata has been moved to the lot adjacent to the FS rather than down below on Via Fiume although the fermata sign and bus number are still present on Via Fioume for two years now.

Thanks

Use Google Maps to calculate km.
For example Levanto to Lavaggiorosso is less than 5km. Therefore you apply the corresponding code (under 6km=€1.50). Do the same with Campiglia and you will find out it is 8km away.
Then when you are there you confirm with the bus staff to make sure.

Roberto to the rescue once again!

I was just getting ready to tell Steve to just ask when he buys his bus ticket.

Well done, Roberto!

I'd still say to just ask the bus staff, since it's their job to know. At the least, you already know you won't pay more than 4.30. This level of detail is more than I care to worry about before arriving in the region.

I think we might opt for a different solution than dealing with single tickets. We spend over a week in the La Spezia region. So I am leaning toward purchasing biglietti settimanali (weekly tickets) that are valid Mon-Sun. The unlimited km ticket is 17 euro for the ATC service. My issue now is that I can't seem to determine where to buy the ticket. The ATC site indicated that monthly passes can be purchased at a post office but there is no like comment later on the page regarding where to buy the weekly ticket. We have purchased weekly tickets on the train before (Mon-Sun validity) for regional only trains. On the Ligurian coast it was quite easy as one only stand in line one to buy the weekly train ticket (must show passport). No validation required as it is a dated ticket. The ticket ease far outweighs any cost disadvantage especially if one is have a late meal in a nearby town and ticket kiosk is out of order.

Any help on where to buy a weekly bus ticket for the atcesercizio service? Thanks
