Assistance understanding how to understand the pattern of sudtirolmobil bus timetables

Hey,

I'm studying the subtirolmobile bus route map and their timetables to better understand how/when/where to get around.

Could somebody help me understand what their format of a timetable means, for example at this particular moment I'm looking into if its feasible to get to/from Ortisei and Colfosco/Corvara so I've downloaded the seasonal 473 timetable https://suedtirolmobil.info/fileadmin/pdf/2022/473_20220619.pdf

Question 1) why is it split into 4 main sections, as opposed to a standard two main sections:
Val Gardena -> Val Badia (Alta Statione)
Val Badia (Alta Statione) -> Val Garenda
Val Gardena -> Val Badia (Bass Stagione)
Val Badia (Bass Stagione) -> Val Gardena

i.e. what's the difference between Val Badia (Bass Stagione) and Val Badia (Alta Statione), and why does this result in 4 sections.

Question 2) So there's only 2 departures and arrivals per day at Ortisei? Most of the buses cycle a shorter loop, with just a couple extending as far as Ortisei?

Question 3) What does this line in the middle of each block of times, for example in the middle of the first section:

350 von St. Ulrich ab ........ p. 352 per Ortisei

Thank you for any assistance. If I can understand one timetable fully, it should apply to the rest.

Alta stagione (or hochsaison) is high season and bassa stagione is low season. So it depends on the time of year you are visiting.

von St Ulrich means ”From St Ulrich”. nach St Ulrich means ”to St Ulrich”. This would be a transfer point to/from another bus (e.g. the 350 route or the 352 route).

So for example, I see a bus that departs Ortisei at 8:04 during the high season and arrives at Corvara at 9:30.

Yes, look to the right where it says "Alta Stagione" and it gives the dates where the schedule is effective. Remember, European notation is day-month-year. In this case, it is June 19 to Sept 16, 2022.

Thank you.

If I open up the timetable for bus 350, I can see that the arrival times at Seilbahn Plan de Gralba correspond with the times displayed in the 350 von St. Ulrich line of the 473 timetable. I feel I've got the hang of these now.

I presume in a situation like this connection, if the 350 is delayed, the 473 would wait for it before departing?

BTW, Once it opens June 16, it would be worth taking the Piz Seteur gondola from Plan de Gralba and hiking up to the Emilio-Comici Huette for lunch. Great food and views, but the restrooms are fabulous! Answer to all the complaints about Italian restrooms.
