I want to stop in Assisi on the way to Sienna. Can we lock our bags in lockers at that train station?
it is a small station; there are no self service luggage lockers; there is a bar shop that stores luggage adjacent to the train station; they also sell tickets to the bus into town from the train station
Amy,
Yes, I agree with Jazz+ Travels, there’s a small shop (they sell snacks, magazines, cigarettes, etc) within the train station where they will hold your bag(s) for a few hours.
I don’t know how much they charge but when I was there I saw the shopkeeper putting away someone’s luggage.
You can also buy bus & train tickets at this shop.
I was there in mid-2014. In addition to the shop others mentioned, there was an American ex-pat who ran a volunteer service in the station. There was signage for luggage storage that I followed to get to him. He gave me some sightseeing advice and a map, sold me a bus ticket up to the town and asked for a very reasonable donation for storing my suitcase. I can't for the life of me remember what he was doing, but I have the impression it was something to do with kids. If you're on the train platform facing the street exit, he was at the far left.
Last summer, I stored my medium sized luggage in the little shop in the station, for about an hour and a half. The older gentleman also really looked into my train schedule, and was nice.
I gave him about a Euro for my luggage (and should've let him keep the change lol), though I bought a couple of things from him.
Thank you everyone!
