Hello.
I am on an early train out of Assisi (7:30am). Is it easy to find a taxi in the historic centre that early in the morning to get me down to the train station (staying in Plaza Rufino)? TIA.
My experience in Assisi was that it was best to have the actual phone number of someone who has a taxi, and call them the night beforehand to book the taxi. Our b&b had the number of a taxi owner posted in our b&b. I'm sorry that I don't have that name. Suggest you ask your hotel or b&b owner (call them) for the name and number of a taxi driver. If you are arriving in Assisi in the future, by train, you will walk out of the station and likely find a couple of taxi drivers waiting to meet folks getting off the train. Ask your driver, then, also, for his card and phone number.
So helpful! Thank u so much for the info!
And for taking the time to help!
I’ll call the taxi tonight and set it up!
I would also suggest having the staff at your hotel pre-arrange a taxi for you, especially at that hour. They may have an arrangement with a particular taxi operator that provides reliable service.
