Assisi, Italy

We will be staying Assisi this April 2015. I have a foot injury and may need some transportation to the some of the Churches on the outskirts of town (Cathedral San Francesco, etc). We will be staying very near the Piazza Commune. Is there a tram or mini bus we can take near there?

lm,

This website should provide the information you're looking for.....

I recall seeing Taxis in the town, but not many buses. AFAIK, only transit and Taxi's are allowed in the main part of town, as it's a ZTL area (at least at some hours or unless one has a permit).

Last summer I was in Assisi with a friend who had some mobility limitations, we hired a taxi (recommended by our hotel) to get to the Franciscan sights, it was very reasonable for about a half-day. He picked us up, dropped us off at one sight and met us at a pre-arranged time (giving us time to linger if we wanted, and time for him time to make another run or two), and on to the next sight. Lots of visitors do this.

There is a minibus that goes from Piazza Matteotti to the train station in a continuous loop with stops at the city sights, but for the Hermitage and other places, you need a taxi or be able to walk long distances if you don't have a car.
