Assisi: Eremo della Carceri and photography

Hello, has anyone walked from Assisi up to the Eremo della Carceri? I looked at the official website for the hermitage, which says that photography is forbidden as distracting in a sacred place. I'm both a devout Catholic and a photographer; happy to put away the camera when requested, but was hoping to take photographs on the 90-minute walk up the hill. Anyone know at what point cameras are forbidden? Thanks.

I think taking photos on the path is okay, any indoor or garden/cloister area is not. I don't recall seeing the "no photo" sign until the staircase to the main buildings.

I would say, when you see the first sign, put the camera away. It is a beautiful, peaceful place and I think you will enjoy it very much.
