We will be arriving in Assisi by train, and would like to stay one night at the Agriturismo Il Noceto Umbro . (Or one of the other agritourismos with a swimming pool) These all are, at a minimum, quite a hike from town. Does anyone know about getting a taxi in Assisi? And, especially, about how to get one to take us TO town from the agritourismo?

I don't have an answer, Dave, but I will remind you that the train stops well outside Assisi down the hill. Where the station is there is the original St Francis church, beautiful, and there is some town so I would be surprised if there are not available taxis. What does your agritourismo advise?

Nigel, I did email the agritourismo and this was the response: Hello,
dont' is difficolt to get a taxi in my hotel, and back to town. As I wasn't sure if he was saying "Don't stay here" (not likely) I asked for clarification but after a week have not heard back. I was hoping other experienced Assisi visitors might know. Dave
