Asolo

Has anyone visited Asolo or stayed at the Albergo del Sole? Does it make sense to stay here rather than in the heart of Venice?? It sounds so appealing, but is it close enough to Venice to be able to visit it easily without tons of travel time?? Any info appreciated!

Asolo is a wonderful and charming place that is frankly fun to visit. It is not in my opinion a place to stay if you want to visit Venice. It is about an hour and a half from Venice via car, since there is no train station. That time would be if traffic were perfect and it rarely is these days.

If you want to experience Venice, then you really need to stay overnight in Venice.
