Arte card Tutta la Regione

I will be staying in Sorrento for 4 nights this May. It was suggested somewhere that we get the Arte card 3 which would include Pompeii and unlimited public transportation in the Naples/Amalfi area. I've been researching this and am confused as to whether it include the Hydrofoil/ferry. On the official Unico Campania website there is a picture of the hydrofoil under modes of transportation but no mention. We (my husband and myself) would love to travel on the water to Sorrento after the long flight. Anyone with first hand experience using this card?

Maritime transport is not included. The list of operators does not include any of the hydrofoil or ferry operators. I don't see a picture of a hydrofoil (perhaps dolphin??). I'll confirm by e-mail and post the answer.

Thank you GAC, I just realized that I asked a similar question once before. I'm afraid that I must be suffering from information overload and was really hoping one of the modes of transportation would include hydrofoil or ferry.

Just returned from Sorrento. The artecard is a great bargain. Not only entrance to museums, but also transportation is a plus. Susan, I'm assuming you will be arriving via the Naples airport. You don't need to go to Naples and take the hydrofoil to Sorrento. There is a bus directly outside the arrivals area which travels directly to Sorrento for 10 euro. No reservations needed, nice bus and pleasant ride.

And that particular airporter bus from NAP to Sorrento, operated by Curreri bus lines, does NOT honor the UNICO CAMPANIA tickets, because it is not part of the UNICO circuit. You pay the driver 10 Euros for the ride to Sorrento.

The UNICO CAMPANIA 3T tourist ticket IS valid on the ALIBUS airporter bus between NAP and central Naples (Piazza Garibaldi-Stazione Centrale and Piazza Municipio-Port). Otherwise, the one-way fare is 3 Euros.

Remember that the UNICO tickets are valid only on the operators identified on the UNICO CAMPANIA website.

Thank you both for the great advise. We will be arriving in Naples and will either take the Currei bus or cab to the Hydrofoil for our first trip into Sorrento. It's good to know ahead of time that we shouldn't be looking for a ticket office and may purchase the bus ticket from the driver. I also plan to purchase the artecard for travel to and from Pompeii and around the Amalfi coast. It will also probably be a safe bet for our return to Naples before our flight to Catania in Sicily. Thanks again!

Or you could take the ALIBUS from NAP to Piazza Municipio (3 Euros), then walk to the hydrofoil dock at Molo Beverello for the hydrofoil to Sorrento (but with luggage, I recommend a taxi).

UNICO CAMPANIA has confirmed to me in writing by e-mail that no maritime operator is covered by their tickets, with NO exceptions:

"No, nessuna eccezione. Il Consorzio non comprende compagnie di navigazione.
Cordiali saluti,
Cinzia Pastore"
