So what's your thoughts on arriving in Venice at 10:30 at night? Would it be difficult to get from the airport to the hotel at that late hour? I am doing an RS tour (that starts on a Monday) and would arrive in Venice on Saturday night.
You shouldn't have a problem getting a taxi that time of night. I my experience (at any airport) as long as there are still flights coming in, there will always be taxis waiting.
Hi Hazel:
The airport is a ways away from Venice. You will need to take a shuttle bus from the airport to the water taxi dock or the take the Alilugna from the same dock as the taxi's.
You might want to see how much the Alilugna costs and how late it runs as water taxis are fairly expensive(about 120 Euros). There is also a bus that will take you to Venice from the airport.
Check out the websites for time tables and costs.
have a wonderful time in Venice!!
It's actually spelled Alilaguna (meaning "to the lagoon"), and here's their website: http://www.alilaguna.it/
If I read it correctly, the last boat to leave the airport leaves at 23:10 (11:10 pm) which, in your case, would be cutting it too close, probably.
I suggest emailing the place you're going to be staying and ask for their suggestions on how to get there at that hour.
There appears to be an ATVO shuttle from the airport to P. Le Roma that leaves at 23:00 and again at 23:40.

It costs three euros. the vaporetto should still be running from P. le Roma but the frequency slows down after midnight.
Be sure to let your hotel know you are arriving so late. Some of the smaller ones may not have a night person on premises and may need to meet you there.
