Arriving in Rome at 7:30p What is best method to get to hotel?

I arrive solo in Rome at about 7:30p. My traveling companion will already be there. What is the best/safest way for me to get to my hotel, which is in the city? I will just have one rolling carry-on bag and a small cross body bag.

To get to the city in general, you have the option of either a taxi (40 euro flat rate for inside the city walls) or the Leonardo Express train from Fiumicino to Termini which is 14 euro. From Termini though you would need to figure out whether you wanted to take a bus, subway or taxi to your hotel.

Try romecabs.com, I think they now charge E45 but they will be waiting for you at the arrivals gate holding a sign with your name on it and drop you off right in front of your hotel. As a female traveling solo and if this is your first time to Rome, I highly recommend romecabs.

Angie, we used one of the shuttle services, though I'm not finding the name right off. You can search "shuttle FCO to Rome" for options. It was about double the cost of the Leonardo express, but much less than a taxi. (Maybe 25E?) It was a good compromise, as they meet you outside the arrival/baggage terminal with your name on a sign and drop you directly at your hotel. You pay before you go when you make a reservation. Tell them flight number and arrival time; if you're late, they'll wait for a certain (reasonable) amount of time. There were half a dozen other people on the same shuttle, and it took a little searching to find the shuttle sign, but really not hard. Good luck! Have a great trip.

If you are a little tight on funds, you can take the SITA bus from FCO to Termini. The price is about 8 euros (although there may be a discount for a round-trip) and the latest bus doesn't leave FCO until midnight. For more info, check out the info on Ron in Rome's site. I used it last year and it was great.
