our plane has changed and now is coming into rome at midnight......is there a hotel close or at the airport to get? I have booked an airbnb for that evening but can not get in any earlier than 11:00am which leaves me about 10 hours and don't know what to do. I don't want to jump around too much.......any thoughts??

Assuming you are arriving at FCO there is a Hilton Hotel on the airport grounds. You can walk to it from the terminal. This could be the easiest but not the least expensive.
Where are you arriving from?

Maybe you can get a hotel very near the apartment you are renting. Have the address?

would that be easier or just go on hotels.com and stay near the airport. I'm worried I"m going to be so exhauted just want to crash.....

The Hilton at FCO caters to late arrivals and early departures and is a short walk from the terminal. We used it a few years ago when we had a 5:50 AM departure. I would check in, get some sleep and be ready to go in the morning.

We stayed at Hotel Tiber near the Rome airport, and it was very nice. But its shuttle does not run that late, so you'd have to get a taxi, and drivers are not always happy to go that short distance.
So if I were you, I'd just walk to the Hilton.

The choice is either the Hilton at the airport and transfer the next day to Rome OR a hotel in Rome and take a taxi for a fixed night time rate of 60E (I think - the daytime rate is 48E). You have to pick a Rome hotel that is big enough to have a 24 hr check in desk. Not all hotels have that.
