Arrival in Milan on Sept. 18 during the train strike

We will be arriving in Milan from the States on Sunday morning Sept. 18 during the train strike. We are supposed to travel by train to Padua that day. According to the link posted on the Ron in Rome site to Trenord, there will still be 4 trains that day travelling to Padua. Is Trenord a different company than Trenitalia, and am I reading this site correctly? I guess I'm just looking for some feedback on my research and whether I should have a backup plan like maybe a bus. Thanks. Bob

Trenord is the local affiliate of Trenitalia. It's full name is "Trenitalia LeNord". If you're talking about this linked schedule, then, yes, it's a confusing mess. I believe what you want to focus on are pages 20 and 21 for the Milan-Venice line, which would be the one you want to get to Padova. But watch out for the 2109 and 2111 which only get you to Verona. (Partenza means departure and Arrivo means arrival, btw. Segue means "continued from the previous page") You might want to look into a bus. Good luck. (And Padova is very charming.)
