Initially I had planned for 5 nights/4 full days in Florence to explore. Adding Venice to my final itinerary knocked my Florence visit down to 3 full days.
I will be arriving in Florence via train from Venice on a Friday afternoon. I have not yet come up with a planned Venice departure time, as I'm torn between staying longer in Venice on that day to take in more sightseeing or heading out earlier to be sure I can see all of what I have planned for Florence (which is a lot).
If I choose not to stay longer in Venice, my plans are to visit the Basilica of San Lorenzo, the Medici Chapel and Medici Palace all on my arrival day. Last entry to the basilica is at 430pm, so I would make that the first stop, then onto the other two. The Airbnb I have booked in Florence is across the street from the Medici Chapel, which is perfect for walking to in a few minutes time. Does this sound doable?

At what time can you check in the apartment? I would try to arrive in Florence at a time when you can check into your AirBnB. If you can’t check in before 2pm, for example, I would try to get there at that time so you can drop your bags before you head out to explore. The train journey is 2h10min. From the SMN station to your apartment you can walk, it’s very near and you can be there in less than 10 minutes (take the pedestrian underpass that goes from the station to Piazza dell’Unità).

The check-in time is 1pm, which I believe allows me a decent amount of time to visit the above mentioned places.
