Six female friends and I are going to stay in Lazio for two weeks at a villa. We would like to see the sea or ocean, but don't know if we want to go all the way to the Cinque Terre. Is there a closer coast with beautiful views, and if so, where should we go and what should we see and where should we eat? Thanks!

Sorrento and the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi Coast are much closer to Lazio than is the Italian Riviera (which includes the CT).

Thank you for the tip. I should have mentioned that we are going to be north of Rome about an hour, so it may actually be in Umbria - close to Orte and Orvieto.
