While in Florence we will take a day trip via bus or train to Arezzo. I'd love to do a wine tour while we are there for the day. Since we wont have a car, is it feasible to get to a vineyard from Arezzo? I keep hitting a brick wall when I'm trying to plan this. I even thought it would be super fun to rent a bike, but wasn.t even sure if there are roads where we could bike to a vineyard. Any suggestions welcome!
It would be easier to do so from Florence, instead of Arezzo. First of all because you already have only a day during your day trip to see Arezzo, secondly because Florence is closer to the Chianti region of Tuscany, and also there are numerous tour companies that organize day (or half day) tours from Florence. You could also go to the Chianti by bus from Florence, but since wineries are in the countryside, either a rental car or a private organized tour would be best.
There are of course wineries near Arezzo, but also in that case you'd need to hire a tour or a private driver, since they are all in the countryside, and not easily reachable by bus from Arezzo city center.
