We will be in Arezzo for the Antiques Fair Sept 30/Oct 1 and staying at a B&B near Piazza Grande. We were told to park at Parcheggio Pietri. Can we park overnight at Parcheggio Pietri? Can we get a taxi from there to the Piazza Grande? Is is better to leave our car at the train station where we know we can get a taxi? Is there overnight parking at the train station? We can walk but not that far with luggage.
Parcheggio Pietri is largely free, but the stalls closer to the escalators require payment at the machine (and placement of the ticket on the dashboard), so make sure you know where you have parked. The free side is not really a long walk to the escalators, so if there is room, park there.
There is really no need to take a taxi, unless you are carrying tons of luggage. There are escalators that take you up to the Piazza Duomo, then it's a short downhill walk to Piazza Grande.
If you plan to leave the car overnight, hopefully you can find parking on the free side. I don't remember if there is max time limit for the pay lot.
The parking at the station is smaller and is a pay lot. It's also a longer walk to Piazza Grande (partially a bit uphill)
