Has anyone else successfully booked admission for the Medici fortress online? We won't be there long so don't want to buy the combined ticket- just want to book the fortress only. When trying to do this, it takes us back to the page where you can purchase the combined ticket. Other sights listed don't do this - you can book your admission to the frescoes and vasari house directly for instance. We've reached out to the small contact listed but no response about this, and we're traveling soon so don't want to end up missing out. Please advise, thank you.

Hello. We are in Arezzo now. We have not visited the Fortezza Medici but have visited Basilica di San Francesco and Museo di Casa Vasari. We walked up, purchased our tickets and walked in. It is not busy at all now. It might be different at other times, (like during the Jousting Festival, June 21 or the antiques fair the first Sunday of the month), but otherwise I would think you will have no problem getting tickets.

Thanks, would love to be able to safely assume that, but we leave for Italy in 2 weeks and will be in Arezzo just a few days. We were planning to go there on July 3rd, and other plans are continent on whether we can do the fortress on that date. Any idea if it'll be an issue at that time?

I cannot say with certainty that you will not have a problem. Since July 3 is a Thursday, I think you should be fine. We were having the same problem trying to purchase timed tickets online and decided to just take a chance. We are glad we waited because it allowed us to visit when we wanted and it saved us the online service fee.
I can recommend an excellent restaurant with certainty. The Buca di San Francesco. It is located at Via de San Francesco, 1, across the narrow street next to Basilica di San Francesco. Easy to miss with a very small doorway and a few steps down.

Finally got a reply from them, not possible and no need to book Medici fortress in advance, so wanted to post the official response here for future readers. Thanks again for the restaurant recommendation as well!
