Arezzo Lodging Accommodations Recommendations

Hello fellow travelers!
I'm planning a trip to Arezzo this September and am in search of recent recommendations for accommodations. While I've browsed the forum, many threads seem a bit outdated.

I'm particularly interested in 4 to 5-star lodgings, preferably located in the historic center of Arezzo. However, I'm also open to charming borghi (villages) nearby if they offer a unique and memorable experience.

If you've visited Arezzo recently and have suggestions for places to stay, I'd greatly appreciate your insights!
Grazie mille!

I've stayed in Arezzo but we're more BnB people so I can't help you out with a direct 4 or 5 star recommendation. But Arezzo is not so big or fancy so the good news is if you want that kind of hotel in the city there are probably only a couple to choose from.
The Hotel Continentale is in between the train station and the old town and really the town is small enough that the location is fine. you can walk everywhere so it's close enough to everything. The only place in the old town with a 4/5 star rating according to Booking.com is Graziella Patio Hotel. This is really well located in middle of downtown.

I'm sure there many spa or luxury stays outside of town available but those would realistically require a car and you don't say what your plans are.

Have a great trip,

I’ve never stayed at the Continentale but it is definitely the top or one of the top in the city center. They don’t have parking though, so if you have a car you’ll need to park at one of the lots nearby. Actually I don’t think there are hotels in the city center that have their own parking.

@hiredman, I'm open to your recommendations on B&Bs.

@Roberto, you shared the parking lot, near city center with the escalator which I will leave my car. I dare not drive in the city. I've done that already while in Roma and never again - LOL.

Thank you.

If you stay at the Continentale the parking lot you mention (which is called “Pietri”) is not near. I usually park at the Parcheggio 🅿️ “Cadorna” or the “Fanfani” which are near Piazza Guido Monaco, therefore 2 min walk to the Continentale. Also near the two above there is an underground garage on Piazza del Popolo (under the public gardens), if you prefer to have covered parking. There is also one at the station, but I don’t know if it’s time limited. I usually park there just a few minutes to pick up or drop off people at the station. The hotel may have other suggestions too, maybe they have agreements with local garages. There are a bunch there. Don’t worry about ZTL on that area, they are all well outside the ZTL.

We stayed at BnB de' Montetini in 2023 for several nights and it was very nice. It's 2 minutes from the cathedral at very close to the top of town. That is coincidentally where the town exit from the parking garage behind the town exits out so it is convenient to that also. There are several BnBs up neat that end of town.

Enjoy,

Great tips on parking.
And thanks on the BnB recommendation. Not sure where to stay just yet.
