We will be in Arezzo June 20th for the Joust of the Saracen and was looking for any tips or experiences from anyone who has experienced this before. We arrive the day before and leave the day after for Florence.
As I understand it the tickets for the big formal event go on sale locally for a day the week before and then on-line the next day. I was considering asking the hotel if they could get us tickets since I'm not sure what my internet access will be like 6 days earlier - probably in Bologna and only with a phone.

If we can't get tickets any tips on experiencing the flag teams and all the pomp and circumstance in and around town? It sounds like the processions run through the old town and you can get in to see the rehearsals the day before for a couple of euros.
Any other tips for Arezzo in general or the Joust festivities in particular?
