Arezzo, Anghiari, Caprese Michelangeo, La Verna, Poppi

I'm planning a trip to Italy in March. I am spending a few days in Tuscany in a nice villa in Chianti. On one of the days I was planning to drive through the Casentino region which is supposed to be an amazing, remote, quiet drive through the cities mentioned above.

Couple questions.

1) Starting in Arezzo - I know this is more touristy than the other places and since I am trying to make the loop in one day, should I just pass through Arezzo or should I actually stop and see the cathedral which I know is supposed to be pretty nice?

2) Anghiari - I know it's a hill town, but is there anything specific I should see in the town?

3) I have heard a lot about La Verna. I definitely want to hike up Mount Penna to get the views. Does anyone know where the trail begins so that I don't spend forever trying to figure this out when I am there?

Any suggestions for this?

I know I probably will not be able to do all this in one day.

We've been to Anghiari, but only to eat dinner at one of the best meals of our entire time in Italy - at Ristorante Da Alighiero (Via Garibaldi, 8) Tel. +39 0575 788040 alighiero@anghiari.it

We've also been to Arezzo and didn't find it particularly touristy at all. There's a cool old fort/castle there, but it's nowhere near as touristy as nearby Cortona.
