According to Mary Beard's book "Pompeii", there is a site called arethusa.net where you can book a times entrance for house in Pompeii that are normally close, and they'll open the house for you. I'm going to Pompeii soon and was excited to try this, but it seems the website no longer exists. Has it just moved somewhere else, or is it no longer possible to enter closed housed like this? It seemed really fun and interesting!
