I may have an opportunity to visit there with my family and can't seem to gather any info about the town itself. I have read about the region, but want to know about the town - it is nice, safe, interesting? Is it just a industrial backwater to Genoa? Are the beaches nice? What is within an easy travel distance that would be interesting for history buffs both young and old?
Please, anything you can share would be great.

Dear Cecily, I lived nearby in Nervi for a year. Arenzano is a lovely residential community lots of lovely villas. 3M has a factory there. Its safe, nice, close to other lovely hill and seaside towns. Places to see nearby include Toirano with its prehistoric grottos, Genova itself , Camogli, . Lots of great fish restaurants. Nice beaches.
Did you ever get to go? I'm interested in your experience. I may do a house swap in Arenzano. I'm just beginning to research.
