I purchased a ticket and it's for a regional train. Now, I needed to change the destination and the date, but looks like I am only able to change the date and time, but cannot change the destination and to/from stations.
Does this sound correct or might I be missing anything?

You can only change to the date or time to the same destination. However, refunds are supposedly allowed:
Changes to date/time of train
An unlimited number of date/time changes are permitted until 11:59 p.m. on the day before your date of travel. Up until 11:59 p.m. on the day of travel, an unlimited number of time changes are permitted provided you have not already checked in for your journey.
Refunds
For tickets purchased online, refunds are permitted (for journey cancellation), provided they are requested by 11.59 p.m. on the day before the date originally selected by the customer.

Yes, this is Ordinaria Regionale ticket. Thank you for the link that confirms that the tickets should be refundable!
When I go to the Customer Area on the Trenitalia website (there are no Trenitalia app in Canada), there is no option to select the refund under the "Manage tickets", and I don't see this info anywhere else. I will look again, and will then just contact their custom service to enquire about this.
