Are there any bank machines in the Cinque Terre?

Yes there are. We stayed in Vernazza at the top of the town next to the post office.. it works very well.

Warren, remember locals use ATMs as much if not more than tourists. Do a GPS search for banks. I have not see a bank yet that did not have an ATM by it's front door.

As you've discovered, it's not a good idea to always rely on GPS units, either when driving or otherwise.

I didn't see any Bancomats in Corniglia, but the other towns seemed to have them, including tiny Riomaggiore which had at least two machines (in the plaza across from the train station).

We had no trouble finding the ATM in Vernazza. Just ask anyone on the street when you get off the train.
Why not assume there are machines in the other four villages?
