Hi folks,
I'm a bit confused. There are 2 choices for Lucca who I go to the departure selection for train station: Bagni de Lucca and Lucca. Are there 2 stations? I can only find one on Google maps.
Help appreciated!

According to my map, Bagni di Lucca is a town almost 10 miles north of Lucca.
Thanks for your very quick response! This helps greatly!
I was thinking when you get off the train in Lucca, it's a pretty long hike into town.
kelly,
Bagni di Lucca is about 30 km north east of Lucca, so the stations are different.
Regarding arrival in Lucca and getting inside the walls to the city, it's not actually that difficult. The walk is mostly level and not strenuous at all, but it will take about 10-15 minutes.
We are staying in a villa just outside the city walls, so that train stations location is perfect for us.
hey Kelly also note that the Lucca train station allows you to go under the tracks from the platform and exit on the south side of the tracks. This might be helpful if your B&B or rental is just south of the tracks as our was. We exited south of the tracks for a quick walk to our B&B. The main station exit is on the north side of the tracks and if your lodging is between the tracks and the south wall entrance to Lucca be sure to exit the main station doors north of the tracks. There is a walk over bridge just west of the station for crossing. We used the station under the tracks exit when arriving with our suitcases but then the rest of the trip use the walk over bridge...hope all those direction references are not confusing, give it peek on Google Earth for clarity! dave
