Are KN95 masks ok to wear on plane to Italy and IN Italy?

Please let me know if it is ok to wear the KN95 masks to and in Italy. They have the same 95%particulatefiltration rate as the FFP2 masks that people have said are needed for Italy. I am coming from and returning to the US. Thank you!!

Yes. Even the FFP2 standard is rarely enforced when specified. No one will bat an eye at your KN95.

KN95 is perfectly accepted in the US and should be elsewhere. If you get to Italy and people give you a hard time, pop into a pharmacy and buy a local mask and they won't know you're sticking your tongue out at them.

With today’s ruling and depending on any appeals, masks on aircraft might be optional by the time of your trip. KN95 are fine to wear.

jaimeelsabio - As countries have relaxed rules for masks on planes international flights have generally been guided by more strict of either the destination or origin countries. Don't expect masks to disappear from flights to/from much of Europe any time soon.

Scudder - that may be true and only time will tell. On our British Airways flights to/from London last month, the flight crew didn’t enforce mask wearing at all.

N95, KN95 and FFP2 are all the same style. All are fine. In Italy, the only place I went that required that style was the Vatican. Everywhere else, surgical masks were okay - at least I saw a few other people using them, so I did too and no one every objected in three weeks.
