Are Keens sandals (with closed toe) appropriate to get into all Italy tourist site (i.e. churches, duomos, etc.)
Yes
I do not believe there are any real footwear restrictions, as long as you are not barefoot
Yes. Covered shoulders and knees and not a lot of exposed décolletage or midriff are usually the only restrictions.
They work perfectly.
Yes. There are no dress codes for shoes in tourist sights. The dress rules in churches are about covering knees and shoulders, feet are not of any concern. Wear flip flops if you like (not actually a good idea due to comfort and dirt, but you are allowed to). Keens are a logical, good choice.
I’ve been wearing the Rose Keen sandals for several years for trips to Europe and previously wore the Venice Keen sandals. I’ve never had any issues, and the protective toe is excellent for walking over cobblestones, etc. or for preventing someone in a crowd at those crowded sites from injuring a toe.
Enjoy your trip!
Imagine a church that finds sandals inappropriate, there would be a rally of protesting monks outside with signs!
Hideous and scream American tourist, for sure. Acceptable? Of course.
April, what would you suggest since apparently you don't approve of Keens?
Hideous and scream American tourist, for sure.
Have you seen what the Germans and Brits wear? hint, they look like American's.
I found the rubber toe to be very hot on my Italy trip. I prefer a shoe or sandal that breathes.
