Are hiking poles helpful/necessary on Best of Tuscany tour?

Has anyone been on this trip and were hiking poles necessary or helpful? We don’t have any knee or hip problems, and typically use hiking poles only for steep hikes.
Thank you for any thoughts…Trying to “pack light” as RS keeps reminding us!

I don't think you'd need them, plus they have to be in checked luggage.

I see the tour takes in Pitigliano and the "vie cave" now--those can be slick, but I still would not take the poles. Be sure you have great shoes of course and a bag so you can be hands-free when walking in the vie cave. (Some are just a regular path, but some are quite rocky, so it just depends on which one you are taken to.)

I’ve taken the tour and could not see the necessity of taking poles. No one on the tour used hiking poles.
