Archeobus in Rome

Has anyone taken the hop on/hop off Archeobus in Rome? I'm thinking it might be a nice way to see the Appian Way and Aqueduct Park.

I didn't use it but I saw it dropping people off along the Appian Way. It's more convenient than public transport (we waited 50 min for the 118 bus), though of course, it costs more.

I took the Archeobus my last day in Rome, and am very glad I did. It's a great way to travel alone the Appian Way and you can get a glimpse or a stop off at many places. But the best part, for me, was driving out of the city into a bit of countryside. The views were great, and as a history dork I had great times imagining...

I loved the stop at the park the most, I think. I had a lovely walk along the aqueduct and took something like a trillion pictures of the mountains and the tall grass and the aqueduct.

Definitely worth it, in my opinion.

Ditto the previous poster. We took the Archeobus two years ago and really enjoyed it. One tip: When you stop at the park / tennis complex near the aqueduct, walk over to the snack bar. I had an incredibly good capuccino there for either a euro or a little over a euro. Plus they had clean restroom facilities....

Thanks, everyone, I think I will do it. Roy, how did you know I am addicted to coffee and that would be important? ;>))

Laurie: Psychic, I guess. :) Actually, I am NOT a coffee drinker, but the capuccino is so good over there it became a morning staple. Enjoy your trip!

Wanted to update everyone on the Archeobus. They no longer go any further than Capo di Bevo which is one stop past the Cecilla Metella tomb. So you can't get to the aquaduct parks this way-the best directions to see them is Ron in Rome. Also 1/2 the earphone tour guide sets didn't work or had lots of interference, so I would not suggest this tour.
