Aqueducts outside of Rome

I hope to plan a day trip to walk the aqueducts outside Rome. Using P. Aicher's Guide to the Aqueducts of Ancient Rome, I see that I can take the metro A line to Lucio Sestio stop, walk the aqueducts, and return via the metro stop at Cinecitta. Question: is this walk safe? I am a single woman age 65, and am concerned about walking alone in an isolated area. Would more people be walking the aqueducts on Sundays?

On Sundays there will be many people out and about at Aqueduct Park. Often on a weekend you'll find plenty of families walking or riding their bikes in this area. Most of the older aqueducts start just after a huge apartment complex and playground area so many folks are there - especially on weekends. As you walk the aqueducts, there is also a PAR 3 golf course on the other side -- so folks are out there also on weekends, depending on the weather. We've done picnics out there a few times and never felt unsafe.
