Aqueduct Park

We're planning to take a day trip from Rome to the Aqueduct Park. I've read that the best way to get there is by Metro. Which location is ideal to catch the bus if we stay in the vicinity of Piazza Navona? Is the archaeological bus worth it?

I've read and heard warnings about the numerous pick-pockets in Rome, especially on the Metro. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I take the Metro all the time. We just make certain we have our wits about us and my husband's wallet in an inside pocket or his hand on it in his front pocket. I use a cross-body bag that is securely zipped.

For easy to follow directions Ron in Rome (who no longer lives here) has a great guide. Make it a sunny day and take your time! You'll need to get to to Stazione Termini to take your Metro, the "A" toward Anagnina. The #40 in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II will do it for you from P.za Navona.

Unfortunately the poorly supported and not terrifically reliable archeo bus and the 110 open have both curled up their toes, died and are no more...

There is a city bus that will get you there as well.
