Aquaduct Park & Appian Way Question

Since I've seen most of the sights in Rome, i'd like to get out to Aquaduct Park for a visit. I see it's an easy walk from the Red Line metro to the park. My question is this - is it possible to also visit the Appian way from Aquaduct Park? It looks close on google maps. It is walkable from the 2 locations?

If you are walking, you should only go on Sunday when traffic on the Appian Way is very limited.

Hi there,
Go see the aqueducts first - here is something I wrote a few years ago: http://www.slowtrav.com/italy/rome/dm_aqueducts.htm I believe the transport ticket is now €1,50.

When you are ready to see the Appian Way, go to back to the Metro direction toward Termini, get off on the Colli Albani stop. There, take the 660 bus to the Appian Way. It stops near the Cecilia Metalla. You can easily follow RS's walk on the Appian way from there. The 118 runs from Appia Pignatella back towards Rome where it can connect you back to the Metro, or other busses if you wish.

Do a google map search and you will find it is easy to do both parks in one day.

Questions? Just ask!

I would love to go on a Sunday but I will be in Rome on Monday and flying out Tuesday. Sunday ill be at the Bravio in Montepulciano. Thanks for the info on the buses and getting off a different metro stop. That's what I was looking for. I will try that. I'll report back in September how I make out on a Monday
