Apt/vacation rental websites & home base (naples area)?

Hello, I would like recommendations for apartment/vacation rental websites & home base recommendations. We're going to naples region end of August-1st wk. in September & open to staying in Ischia, Sorrento, Positano or neighboring cities. We'd like a kitchenette & if not too expensive a 2bdrm. Thinking apt might be cheaper than hotel? I google apt/vacation rental & too many choices, hoping someone has a good experience w/a site...or could even give advice on home base in this area. We have 2 small children (5 yrs old and nearly 2 yrs) that we're traveling with. From other posts I've read & trip advisor sounds that Sorrento is a good home base, but, we also would like a few days on the beach with the children. So, we're considering Ischia, but I am concerned about the costs of ferries/transportation to surrounding cities (interested to visit procida, naples, pompei)...sorry for the long winded information :) We'll be in the area for 1 wk and thankfully for us we're starting from our home in France (not traveling from the u.s....we wouldn't dare doing this vacation with 2 sm children!) :) Thank u for advice!

We used vrbo (www.vrbo.com) to find apartments. I narrowed my search down by specifying the number of bedrooms and the neighborhood I wanted to stay in. I found a tiny studio in Rome a couple of blocks from the Colosseum for about 115 euros/night. Also found a spacious 2 bedroom apartment just outside Sorrento (about a 15 minute walk). Take your time and look at each listing carefully to see what it has and doesn't have. Renting an apartment saved us money on food because we could eat breakfadt in, pack lunches and snacks and sometimes we cookedmdinner in as well. I found shopping in the markets to be fun and interesting.
