Hello Wise Travelers - I'm looking for specific apartment referrals in Rome, Florence, and Venice for mid-September, 2024. About 3-4 nights each for 2 non-smoking, adult couples. No hotels. We're primarily checking AirBnB, VRBO, and BookingDotCom, but wondering if anyone has any other private referrals. Grazie!

It was a new neighborhood for us in Rome and we liked it almost as much as Testaccio (Testaccio west of via Marmorata and north of via Galvani) --- it was an easy walk from Roma Termini and to several of the main sites, but probably not as convenient as being right in the middle of the main things people go to Rome to see (close to the Pantheon, for example). We prefer being on the "outskirts" of the heavily touristed zone just because it tends to be quieter at night, have less busy sidewalks, and have more of the kind of restaurants we like.
