My husband and I will be flying to Venice, arriving on the 4/10. After a few days in Venice we will take a train to Rome and return home on the 19th. We need some advice on how long we should plan to stay in Venice.
Thanks

You have 9 nights. I would give Venice 4 and Rome 5. Four nights means 3 full days in Venice, giving you time to ease into Itlay and get over jetlag. Take one of those days to go visit Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Rick Steves outlines a great self-tour of the islands in his Venice guide. Torcello is less-visited and quite different from Venice, Murano, or Burano. well worth the trip!
Four/Five is not bad given that the first day in Venice will be mostly lost to jet lag.
Thanks, thats very helpful
