April itinerary

Working on the following itinerary for April: fly into Bologna, stay in Ferrara three nights. Been before very briefly. Familiar with the city website - will study for ideas on what to see.

Stay in Firenze six nights (2nd time there). Want to see things I missed before, including the Accademia (I know!), Santa Croce, San Miniato al Monte, Giardino Bardini… also may revisit the Uffizi, Museo San Marco, Bargello, Cappella Brancacci, Palazzo Davanzati… Possible day trips: Fiesole, Prato.

Stay in Stresa four nights. Explore the islands and other lake towns by boat.

Leave early a.m. for Milano. Stash luggage, explore city. May take Walks of Italy tour that includes the Duomo, the Last Supper, etc. spend night right near Malpensa, leave in the a.m.

Anyway, would love to hear anyone’s ideas about any sights I may be overlooking.

Stresa is nice, but small - four nights seems like a lot, especially since April is still early. The lake will be cool and not all vegetation will be green, especially on the hills. Perhaps add a stop in Parma for two nights?
