April 25, Liberation Day and May 1, Labor Day in Italy

Hi,

I am planning a 3 week trip through Italy and April 25 and May 1 both fall during my trip. We planned on being in Florence on April 25, but we were not sure if everything would be closed (museums, stores, etc). For Labor Day, we would be on the Amalfi coast and we have the same concerns.

Thank you for any help!

I'm looking for an answer too! Is there some celebration we should look for on Liberation Day?

I know that in Rome there is a huge free outdoor concert on May 1 (Labour Day)at Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano . My family and I will also be travelling in Rome at this time and I have found this website. My friend who is from Rome said that things like parks, museums are generally open that day. Here is the link to the Primo Maggio concert (it is in Italian)
