April 2020 Vacation with Teens

My family of 4 (2 teens ages 13 and 17) will be arriving in Venice at 3 pm on Thursday April 9 and departing Rome on Saturday April 18 at 1pm.
I am looking for recommendations for places to stay in both Venice and Rome that would accommodate us all, in one room/suite/apartment if possible.
We may try to do 2-3 nights in Florence on Easter Sunday and Monday depending on your recommendations and availability?

Also, any recommendations for train travel and touring would be greatly appreciated.
Would do an agritourismo if that seems like a good idea?

Our itinerary is wide open. Would like limited museum time and are willing to try out non-traditional activities.
It's our first time in Europe as a family.

We like apartments in Venice and have had good experiences renting from a local company named Venice Red House. Here is a two-bedroom, two bath apartment available for your dates for €216 a night, plus a cleaning fee of €50.

It is in Cannaregio near the Ca'd'Oro vaporetto stop. You could use the traghetto to cross the Grand Canal from there to Rialto to shop like a local at the market.

We travelled as a family of four a few years ago and stayed here in Rome:

Fabulous staff, great breakfast and a great location in Trastevere. It looks like they have a quadruple room available in mid April.

I recommend hiring private guides for some of the sites. We toured with the following:

Marta Marsili(Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill and Ostia Antica)

Paula Costa (Accademia/Uffuzi/walking tour of Florence)

Have a great trip! Italy is simply beautiful!
