We are a group of three, visiting Rome for just 3 days before visiting the Amalfi Coast in early September. I have mapped out a moderate city walk for our first day - wanting to take it easy since that is when we arrive from North America. The following day I have booked a 4-hour walking tour with a local guide, leaving just the last full day for a visit to the Appian Way.
I have a few concerns, and who better to help with those than you all!
1) I've been warned that, while it is fairly straightforward to get there, arranging a return via taxi (FreeNow) or Uber can be difficult.
2) What advice do you have regarding start and stop points, given that we are walking, will be there on a Saturday, and concern #1?
3) Any great lunch opportunities you'd like to share would also be much appreciated.
I know that there are a few questions/answers on topic here, but the most recent are either bike-centric or for a very different time of year, so please indulge me!
There are lots of YouTube videos and RS posts, so you can assess what fits with your dreams.
My wife and I will be there in two weeks and I've watched a lot.
This is a long walk. He starts at the furthest south end and walks north. The McDonald's that they started at is very interesting

Hi Evan - Thank you for the link - very informative and entertaining, and I love goats and sheep so that was a bonus! I'd love to hear about your experience when you are back - have a great time!
