Appartments & B&Bs in Rome on Cross-Pollinate

I'm going to Rome in October and need help finding a nice, affordable place to stay. I have been looking on Cross-Pollinate and found a few places that look nice but I'm wondering if they are in safe areas and central to the "touristy" places in Rome.... Any information would be helpful. Has anyone stayed at any of these:

Not familiar with any of these properties. I have stayed with cross-pollinate many times and have loved everyplace I've stayed. To answer your question of "safe areas" Rome is very safe the worst thing is petty crime. It is not dangerous as some parts of say New York City are. If it says on the website Termini, thats near the train station and very convenient to transportation. If it says historic area, that obviously is right in the historic district. Remember Rome is very compact and can be walked very easily. Basically, anywhere you stay in Rome will be safe no need to worry!!!

Not those places, we stayed at another of Crooss-Po listing, Le Rose di Bl. Very good location (around corner from metro station, 8 minute walk to Termini), clean and big room, A/C and elevator, extra bathrooms, 68 euro, skimpy breakfast, overall great value. Check it out on trip advisor.

I was trying to use Cross-Pollinate too, for Rome, but I couldn't find reviews of many of the places so I ended up booking a hotel.

Went with Casa Boschi B&B. It was a good choice! The owners, Irene and Chiara, far exceeded our expectations. It was within walking distance of the Vatican and the bus stop for all the major areas was a 2-3 minute walk. I recommend it!

Look in the Trastevere section of Rome. It's a safe area with tons of restaurants and a vibrant nightlife. It's also close to the ancient sites.

When we rented our apt in Rome we used VRBO.com (#13150)and found a place for only $100US/nite that was little ways out, but was in a great neghborhood; with lovely balconys overlooking a park and a river, and with lots of shops and restaurants.

The one item that is critical is the location, IN REFERENCE TO TRANSPORTAION. Our apt was less than two blocks from a train station( easy access from the airport), and a couple of blocks from two express bus lines that either took us to the Termini area or to the Spanish Steps.

Also make sure that you get the address, Google map the area, and turn on the Street View. If it is on a main street, it could be noisy!

We used cross-pollinate for Rome. We stayed at Le Rose Di Bi and while we found the room to be clean, we didn't care for the location. I wouldn't recommend staying near the Termini. The area is quite dirty and there is graffiti everywhere. There are many other areas that I think would be better and Rome is extremely easy to get around.
