Any hints on the easiest, best App to use that translates menus in Italy, Germany, and France? Traveling soon and don't speak ay of these languages. Thanks
I've found that many restaurants in tourist areas either have English wording underneath the local language on their menus, or in some cases they have separate English menus for tourists. The best app is probably Google Translate as there's a camera feature that translates other languages. I've found it to be a bit "quirky" and haven't had great success with it but your experience may differ.
Just translating the words is not necessarily going to give you a clue to some meals. I’d suggest buying Rick’s 3 in 1 Phrase Book which has restaurant “translators” for the three countries. I still remember mistakenly ordering “rignons” in Lyon. Kidneys would not have been my first, or last, choice.
