Apartments or suites in Florence

We are going to be in Florence for 1 week next June. Looking to rent an apartment or hotel suite with a couch. We're particular and would like to have a place that is very clean and updated. If we rent an apartment we'd like to be in touch with the owner, should we have questions or need suggestions for restaurants etc.
Thank you in advance for your help! We can't wait for our trip to Florence and Tuscany. It's been 15 years since our last trip!

I don't have a specific place to recommend, but I can share my strategy because I also place a lot of emphasis on my accommodations. I start with Booking.com, as you can rent any type of place there and I like to have all my accommodations organized in one place, plus it's super user friendly, has verified reviews, etc. If I don't find anything there, I look at VRBO and AirBNB (a superhost from the latter would fulfill your needs for owner communication). There are also plenty of other companies--I've seen SleepinItaly recommended. Tourism offices sometimes offer info as well, such as https://www.discovertuscany.com/florence-apartments/. good luck!

Thanks! I've used those sites for rentals, but always feel more confident about my choices when I get them from someone on a forum like this or from someone I know.

We just stayed for 5 days the the RS recommended Relais & Maison Grand Tour. The host was on site and very accessible and involved - if you want her to be - in your stay in Florence. The rooms are all different but large and spacious.
It is convenient to buses, laundry, Mercato, Accademia and a few minutes walk to all the sites.

We stayed in the Actor suite but many of the rooms are large enough for a couch, another bed etc. If it looks like what you're looking for I can recommend it.
